Boca Chica Revised...

Sorry that last entry was a cop out! I have been soooo busy and internet costs money and I just haven't had a chance to really write a blog. But now I'm back in Ensenada with my own computer and I'm going to do my best. So here it goes...

We flew into Cartagena on May 3rd and the couple who are the base directors in Boca Chica met us at the airport. They took us to a boat and sent us off to Boca Chica. It was about 25 minutes by boat to get to the island. The base was beautiful. The plumbing was interesting... showers were bucket showers and we flushed the toilet by dumping water down it. When we got to Boca Chica, Sarvia was there waiting for us. She came to spend a week with us during our outreach. She brought chocolate!!!!!! It was real yummy! The food at Boca Chica was incredible. Our ministries were varied and interesting. The first day we built a latrine and then moved wood. Every morning we had some kind of group worship or intercession thing and after that we cleaned the base every morning. Our second day of ministry we built a floor. Then a couple of us went to this house that they have for feeding kids and giving them a Bible story. The next few days are kind of blurred together. We did a mother's day party for a bunch of mothers. We threw a party for a lot of kids (Ru, Sjoerd, and I were clowns for this and it was so much fun!). I can't really remember a whole lot more of what we did, but it was really fun. We just kind of ran a few church services and youth groups and stuff like that. On Friday morning we left Boca Chica for Cartagena. The 25 minute boat ride back was lovely. The boat ride was the coolest it got in Cartagena and Boca Chica. We were going fast across the ocean with the wind in our faces and it felt good. So that was Boca Chia.
